This is one of the most beautiful love stories I’ve ever read….I bought this book as I had thoroughly enjoyed “Doc” Foxx’s first book, Spirit Ranch, as did everyone in my bookclub. I live in Thermal, Ca, close to the Eldorado Polo grounds, so the historical references and location were familiar to me. I’m fortunate enough to count Doc and Jo as friends and appreciate Doc’s skill as a physician. I read A Passionate Adventure in 3 days – just finished it and most highly recommend. Enjoy Macarena and polo heaven, Jo!

Your rewrites were perfect. Loved the start how you got into polo with Kim Kelly and Debii Dollar in Santa Fe then go into getting acquainted with Jo and your journey from there. We first came to polo when Prince Charles played at EPC. We were in line to shake his hand also. So the story from there brings so much history love heartache joy success loss….you were the golden couple at EPC. You completed each other. Lived life full of passion and hard work. Then come to the hardest part were Jo gets cancer conquers that, picking up pieces moving to Valley Center then as Covid is closing in pack up and move to your beloved Santa Fe.
The hardest part to read is the uncaring from Drs at both Mayo and Houston and the agony from the most painful of all cancers. Your love for each other is amazing as you conquered all life handed you. Job well done!! A real homage to yours and Jo’s love of each other. Thank you for sharing your lives especially with us that know and love you both.

Getting back to the book the most important part-the story is a fabulous tribute to Jo Ann, I knew you were a talented writer but the book is beautiful.
All of the stages you went through just proves beyond a doubt you two were so meant for each other and true soul mates. I know Jo Ann felt so connected with you at the beginning, middle and end. This was a good read. It tells the story of two people who met and fell in love and the adventure of their lives together. I like that the author includes their thought process as they plan and make successful things happen and how they deal with setbacks as well. It reminded me of Stoicism where you realize you can’t control what life throws at you but you can control how you react and respond. And in Doc and Jo’s adventure I found myself admiring their determination and creativity as they made their way through this adventure. The ending was sad but with a surprisingly beautiful vision shared by the author. I’m glad I read this book.
